Quin Sweetman is an American artist based in Portland, Oregon.
Sweetman uses predominantly drawing, photography and paint to create her figurative works. The artist aims to create a sense of energy in her work; her colourful palette and energetic brushstrokes certainly evoke a sense of vibrancy. The artist herself notes:
“I’d like people to see life and movement in my work; to feel a sense of being there.”
Sweetman has been strongly influenced by the Impressionists, this influence can be seen in not only the artists brushstrokes, but also in the sense of light and atmosphere the artist creates in her work.
We will be painting the artist’s wonderful work: ‘Venice Through the Gondolas’ on the 26th of January in Wimbledon, as well as featuring the artist’s work on our Facebook and Twitter pages all week.
